St Mary's Church Charity Shop, "Uncle Wainwright's" on Appledore Quay

Open Wednesdays & Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

Our popular and successful Charity Shop on the Quay is run by our volunteer team to sell donated goods to help fund the upkeep of our splendid church, churchyard and grounds; this also enables us to make donations to various charities. You can visit Uncle Wainwright's on Facebook.

Floodlighting: St Mary's Church Floodlighting: As we no longer have our Church Magazine, those who have in the past sponsored flood lighting of the church, please do continue. A monthly list of dedications will be displayed on the Church Notice Boards. The dedications are also included on St Mary's Facebook Page. If you wish to sponsor floodlighting the Church, perhaps in memory of a loved one on particular dates, please contact Peter Dixon on 01237 476968, or at 1 Odun Road, Appledore, EX39 1PT. Details of dates and dedications for next month need to be received before the end of this month please to be included.

Safeguarding: St Mary's takes safeguarding very seriously and the PCC have adopted the Exeter Diocese Safeguarding Handbook, promoting a safer Church. Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of us all whether they are in the communities in which we live or part of our Christian family. If you have a concern regarding a child, young person or adult who may be at risk of harm please speak to our Team Rector, Revd. Derek Arnold T: 07789 631346. The Diocesan Safeguarding Team’s contact details can be found here.

If you are a young person and you feel unhappy about something happening to you, you can call Childline on 0800 11 11.
